Before I had kids, if I found a job where I could bring my dog to work, that would be the best job of all. The few times I've had care givers, their dogs were welcome. I have them sing, draw and go for hikes with my daughter. Those are things I would have liked as a care giver and my daughter likes those things.

I think I'd invite care givers to work on a community garden for us all on our acreage. I heard a report on NPR that one person's garden doesn't pay off but several people pitching in changes that. Production increases a lot.

And I'd try to create some kind of method for all of us to buy bulk and save money.

And I'd try to create some kind of cooperation that my care givers have a fringe benefit that we all will be house sitters and take care of each other's plants and pets when we go on vacation.

And I'd have us sit down and talk about ways to improve our situations.
